Growing up near Edinburgh Sally studied cello, piano and singing. She attended the University of Edinburgh, winning prizes for best recital and for work involving early music. Alongside studying Sally taught musicianship, was a choral scholar and manager of the Music Society Symphony Orchestra. She moved to London in 2020 to pursue a career as a freelance portfolio musician.
Since moving, Sally has worked for organisations such as St-Martin-in-the-Fields, Gabrieli Roar and Music and Theatre for All. She teaches music for Sing Education and is a professional soprano, most often in choral settings. She loves early music and has enjoyed performing more recently discovered and lesser-known early works. She has demonstrated her enthusiasm for new music through projects with her small chamber group White Rose Ensemble, who champion repertoire for soprano and clarinet, sometimes involving piano.
Having been lucky enough to experience a generous music education, Sally is excited to work with Future Talent and to develop opportunities for the excellent young musicians they support. Outside of her work in classical music, she enjoys listening to many genres, particularly folk and jazz.
