Let Their Music Be Heard

Talented young musicians face shrinking opportunities and rising costs. Your donation to the Big Give Christmas Challenge can provide lessons, instruments, and the chance to perform. Stand with them and let their music be heard.
November 27, 2025

Over the last decade, music education has been quietly fading from our schools. There has been a 42% fall in Expressive Arts GCSE entries since 2010, and last year 42% of schools didn’t enter a single student for Music GCSE. With shrinking budgets and fewer specialist teachers, young people from low-income backgrounds are being hit the hardest. Without support, their music risks never being heard.

You can make all the difference.

A donation to the Big Give Christmas Challenge will double your impact, helping provide financial grants and opportunities to those in need. A young person continuing their music lessons, when their family might've been forced to cancel them. Buying their first instrument. Paying for the bus to orchestra rehearsal. And so much more.

When we invest in them, something remarkable happens: the unheard becomes heard. A quiet practice room transforms into a confident performance. A shy young child discovers their voice. Music gives young people strength, identity, belonging - but they can't do it alone.

This year, we're asking you to stand with them and Let Their Music Be Heard.

Your donation of £10, £25, £100 or more directly supports a talented young musician who simply needs a chance to be heard, and your donation will be doubled thanks to support from BeauxArtz, until we reach our target! This year our target is £40,000 - that's £20,000 of donations, to unlock £20,000 of match funding.

Donate to the Big Give Christmas Challenge between 2-9 December 2025 to have your donation match-funded, at no extra cost to you. Your support means that unheard talent in the UK becomes music the world can finally listen to.
